We ensure you're eligible to claim the maximum amount you deserve.

You may have an insurance policy connected to your superannuation fund which offers you total and permanent disability insurance - more commonly known as TPD insurance.

If you are unable to return to work and have a total and permanent disability you may be eligible to make a claim against the TPD insurance policy. Such a claim can be generally made over and above any other claims that you may have, for example a workers’ compensation claim

What am I entitled to?

Depending on the circumstances of your case you may be eligible to claim:

  • General damages: which compensate for your pain and suffering, loss of enjoyment of life and loss of amenities.
  • Economic loss: including past and future loss of income and superannuation.
  • Past and future medical treatment costs.
  • Gratuitous services or voluntary assistance for the support that family and friends have provided to you due to your accident injuries.
  • Past and future travelling expenses for travel to and from treatment providers.

Will this cost me anything?

When you engage PPIL you won’t pay anything throughout the whole claims process. Once we have settled your claim, we’ll then determine how much our services cost. The majority of our fees will be covered by the insurance company, and we also place a cap on the fees you pay which is based off of your claim.

So, if you do end up having to pay anything, it would only come to a maximum of 10% of your claim.

(e.g. if your claim came to $50,000 then you would only ever pay a maximum of $5,000 as a contribution to the legal fees)

What should I do now?

It may also be the case that you have more than one superannuation fund and potentially more than one TPD insurance policy to access and make a claim against. Each policy is particular in what it defines as a total and permanent disability, but generally, it means that you are no longer able to do the work that you are trained or qualified to do. If you are about to go through or are going through a TPD claim talk to us today.

All you need to do is call us and we will take care of the rest.
